Plain and simple, seasonal allergies are a bitch. Actually, I don't even know whether or not mine can be classified as "seasonal"... because mine seem to be extremely RANDOM, even at times when I've been around the things for so long, and automatically they bother the crap out of me.
The things that have never bothered me in the past - incense, perfumes, scented sprays and lotions (even my coveted
Breathe Delight line from Bath & Body Works) are driving my nasal passages, throat and eyes bonkers. I'm trying so hard not to throw away so much of my nice-smelling stuff, because for one, most of it was expensive as hell, and two, many of the things I still love (i think I'll cry if I have to get rid of the sandalwood incense!).
I remember being a kid, wondering how in the world people functioned being allergic to the strangest things... food, flowers, animals... mainly because I wasn't allergic to ANYTHING. It wasn't until I was about 20 years old when I realized what "hives" were, after taking medication for a bladder infection which had never affected me the first 3 times I had taken it before.
Just don't let me be allergic to shellfish... i swear I'd probably keel over and die because life wouldn't be worth living anymore.
