"Black Rosie" Photo Is Made Of Awesome

The Library of Congress has posted a Flickr photoset of fascinating WW2-era photographs, including this gorgeous shot of an African-American "Rosie the Riveter." Notice the perfect reflection in the metal. Admire the clarity of the lighting. Swoon over the fingernails. Swoon again over the fingernails-plus-heavy-equipment juxtaposition.

I wonder who she was, and if she's still alive.

Edit: Du'ur, I forgot to link the actual LOC photosets, in which there resides much goodness. Interesting - apparently they're experimenting with improving archive access by releasing them on Flickr and letting the public help tag them.
