This Shouldn't Work, But It Does
This is an excerpt from a long-ago Christmas special I vaguely recall watching when I was not much older than Teh Kiddo. It starts out with one of those strained 70's variety-show setups ("Hi, I'm David Bowie, I just moved in next door") and segues into one of the loveliest and most utterly improbable duets imaginable. I pestered my mother into buying me the 45, and I played it over and over every Christmas. This is actually where I first discovered David Bowie - that's right, Bing Crosby led me directly to Ziggy Stardust.
