Who am I?
Who am I? Ah, that age-old question that haunts us all. Thankfully, I am not interested in answering the the wider implications of that query: for the purposes of this self-indulgent platform, I am a 30-something fanfic writer that was drawn here, much like a moth to the flame by the lovely SSHG community.
I fell down the rabbit hole of Harry Potter fanfiction purely by chance and now find myself furiously typing away on a long WIP and several plot bunnies. While I've always written drabbles here and there, my background in RL is academia. Primarily, I research areas of public and reproductive health; I specialize in the Middle East and Africa. I currently work in education. Should you be writing on any of those topics and have questions, feel free to contact me.
The story I'm currently working on came to me whilst listening to Jeff Buckley's wonderful version of "Hallelujah". I'm still angry over that horrid epilogue some six years later-- there is no chance that having experienced all of the trauma our erstwhile characters would simply fall in line, end up with their school-yard loves, and live happily ever after-- so my story is an attempt to correct that monumental error. Also, I find Dumbledore to be a Machiavellian and unredeemable ass.
I have an unhealthy obsession with music, photography and love to read fantasy and sci-fi. My favorite show growing up was the X-Files; currently, I'm a Doctor Who fan. I love American Football, and am basking in the joy of a Super Bowl win.
