Back in my office. The left side of my lower face and jaw is numb. Lips? I have lips?! Oh yeah. I'm keeping my hand on my mouth, kind of paranoid about sitting here drooling. Which makes typing a challenge. Do I type one handed, or do I drool... decisions, decisions.
Long story short... I was supposed to go back in and get that cavity in 18 and 19 fixed a year ago. One of them chipped. The cavity is pretty deep. But since I wasn't feeling any pain or sensitivity (yet), Mr. Dentist Guy decided to go ahead and try to just drill the cavity out and crown/cap the tooth. He numbed me up (I closed my eyes for the needle part - he was so good about it I didn't feel a thing!), and, tells me as he gets ready with the drill, "Just lift a hand if you feel any pain."
I laughed, thinking to myself, "Ah, good! A safeword!"
Fortunately, I made it pretty far without raising my hand. And even then, it was only a little bit.
If I'm lucky, I'll have no pain and sensitivity. If I'm not so lucky, I'll have a root canal.
Joy.
