Metaphysical Family Tree

My friend Jay eloquently wrote:

"My favorite Amanda,

Your momma's momma knew she'd done well after meeting you and your sister. Hold not regrets, because I'm sure she doesn't. What is up with this getting-older-and-being-more-responsible thing? I didn't ask for it; but I very much like it.

It leaves me wondering if I should have asked more questions earlier, if they should have told me more (the genetic-paser-oners), or if everything is just a in a weird flux...?

I see advancement and yet I question everything! Any ideas? Please respond, for I'm full of this weird crossing of ambiguity and pondering.

Love your peace forever,

me

PS: We ARE the immediate future. It's just starting.

Later, old-school neighbor."

It left me wondering as well; are we the outcomes of genetic disposition? Are we free radicals who can transcend our nurture and nature and be one complete independent spirit? Should we embrace our pasts and strive to recycle the good into our future?

The answers to all of these are yes. I am certain that I am my mom's daughter. The things we have been passed down are our lineage, our sacred link to the most primal of all experiences; the human experience. There, according to biology, simply put, are only so many "starters". The ancient people who first spawned the human race. We are all children; we are all intrinsically linked. Love your brother and sister because that is the human condition.

Us humans go through all of the same things together. While you may be a free spirit, individual in mind and body, being part of the human race connects you to every other person, their experiences and their souls. In that way, no one is unique. Don't worry... it's not a bad thing. Take comfort in knowing that you, yes you; loner, rebel, Pee-Wee Herman, are DEFINITELY NOT alone. There will be someone in whom you can find empathy.

That doesn't mean you should take advantage of it, however. Remember the Golden Rule; do unto others as you would want to be done to you. This rule is agreed upon within all cultures and religions across the board.

My friend Jay shouldn't wonder if he should have asked more questions to gain more knowledge, because this knowledge is passed down. It is in our DNA. We simply must tap into it. The answers that we have been searching for, the wisdom of those past, this is all at our disposal and will pour into your subconscious as long as you are open to it. Our responsibilities as we get older are to realize this, and enact it so the future generations of we can continue to be a part of this truly unique experience that is humanity.

"We are the immediate future..." for what is the present but the future come to fruition instantaneously?
