So I got called back for an interview regarding the ILSIP internship which is awesome, as it means that should I get the internship I wont have to either join the navy or become a bum. However in the confirmation email was this lil tidbit of fun:
"The interview environment is rather intimidating. Partisan staff will be seated in the legislators’ seats. You will be seated at the table for witnesses providing testimony. Generally, there are between eight and fifteen members of the partisan staff members involved in the interview process. The staff will ask a barrage of questions during the 30 minute time frame in attempt to find out how you will react under pressure and in adverse conditions. Interview questions may cover areas such as your reasons for pursuing the internship program, your ability to work well with a partisan staff, the policy area from your essay, and current events/policy issues relevant to Illinois. You can expect that any information provided in your application packet may come up as a topic during your interview."
Thus I'm a little bit terrified. But alas it looks like I fly to Springfield on April 2nd then interview and fly back on the third, but theyre paying for my travel which is pretty awesome.
