lilfish posted some random thoughts. I responded to one. Then the sleep deprivation took over and I started spouting some randoms of my own, observations from the day's trip to Herndon, VA and Washington, DC, to see the two halves of the National Air and Space Museum with Amanda and Laura...
Every time I hear or read "ficus" I immediately think of the loopy old show "Quark"; the first officer of the ship in that show was a humanoid plant named Ficus.
The National Air and Space Museum has a Minuteman III and an SS-20; interesting juxtaposition.
The NASB's Dulles Airport annex is, like all Smithsonian museums, free (you paid for admission when you filed your 1040, doncha know), but they pull about $12.00 worth of your intestines out the hard way to let you park. Owie.
The Orange Line and Blue Line converge at Rosslyn.
Just west of Falls Church, on Metro, there's a junction to a line that diverges into a tunnel and, so far as I can tell, goes pretty much noplace. Mysterious, that.
Nothing moves slower than The Beltway during rush hour.
My mother's house has more creaks and pops than my ankles, and that's saying a whole heck of a lot.
Howard Hughes may have been a stone cold whack job, but he sure did build a big airplane!
