So I'm listening to Fall Out Boy's Infinity On High tonight while I'm doing homework (yes music really does help me concentrate) and I'm thinking about how fucking solid of a record it is. Seriously, I think I've messed up my headphones just by listening to it (honorable mention on this matter goes to Hum Hallelujah and The Carpal Tunnel of Love, which are both great to listen to really loud). I probably wouldn't necessarily consider FOB one of my favourite bands, but fucking a if I can't get this CD out of whatever CD player I'm using at the moment. I know probably half the world hates them, one fourth only wants to fuck Pete Wentz, one eighth secretly like them but bash them otherwise, and the remaining eighth actually give a shit (no, I don't care what category you fall into); but damn if they didn't write one hell of a record. Why they chose This Ain't A Scene... as the first single beats me though (to be honest, it's the most radio friendly and that's most likely why), I think it's kind of one of the weakest songs, it's only saving grace is the slight yet different hip hop feel to it. I still don't have a definite list of favourites, but I'm digging Hum Hallelujah, Golden, The Carpal Tunnel of Love, and maybe Thnks Fr Th Mmrs; I do the love the almost cinematic sound to I've Got All This Ringing though.
And by the way if you're wondering why I'm talking about this CD so much here (despite the fact that it's my LJ so I can write whatever the fuck my little heart desires to), I honestly think this CD deserves it.
Another honorable mention I've got today's going out to Hey Chris' post today. Normally I read over his posts and think something along the lines of 'Fuck, he can word stuff pretty good', but today his post just made so much sense (not that they don't always). Ms. Walls said something last year about how cells release alcohol but we take it and put it into ourselves and I remember thinking 'Damn, that makes sense' but also kind of thought 'Whatever, I just take one or two drinks of my mom/dad's drinks, no biggie' . Sometime recently I've realized that on some people those one or two drinks can tip them over to wanting more, and I had a smarter thought 'Why risk it?' I don't need alcohol, my judgement doesn't need it, and my liver certainly doesn't need it, so why even bother? Drugs I'm not even going to bother with, never have tried them and I don't plan to. As for smoking, if you're around me when I'm around smokers I trust you know the answer. So today his post made a hell of a lot of sense to me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2As_0Bg2rc Because however much I say lately that I can't stand this band for not going on a headlining tour, not coming to Orlando, and the tickets being too expensive you know I fucking love them. Enjoy Sisky's glorious hair (I personally love it).
And just one more video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpQokvd90ZwAnberlin's acoustic performance of Alexithymia at Park Ave CDs. Greatest. thing. in. the. world. Stephen forgets the words twice before just stopping trying to play it, then someone hands him a CD booklet and he calls himself a "cocky rockstar" (me and Kayra said that for at least a week after lol).
My life today, with the exception of boring you about all of the psych! I have to do and my worry about getting a Paramore ticket. And how poor I'm going to be with buying concert tickets and CDs, no more random green tea Frappucinos or Red Bulls for me.
STOP.
