School's started. It's about 3 weeks underway, but I missed the first real week for Nate and Jeannie's wedding in Montana. Getting there and getting home was singularly the worst traveling experience of my life. The three days there, one of the best experiences of my life.
I'm seeing a consurgence against (or caused by) the hipster look here in san francisco. Don't know how it is in other places, but there seems to be a post-grunge look for girls around the city. I've been seeing tons of ladies dressed like little boys during the depression. and i'm totally ok with it. It's like grunge and hipster had a ne'er do well kid who all of sudden got its life together.
School is kicking my ass. missing a few days has set me back a little bit that I'm scrabbling to make up. Hours in the Learning Assistance Center...tutoring abounds.
I don't study when I'm at home, I discovered. No matter how noble my intentions, how romantic my imagined image of me in a sun bathed room, cup of tea steaming next to me as I sit cross legged, book in lap, and try to work out the calculus integration / chemistry equation balancing / physics "real world" problem in front of me, I end up eading bowl after bowl of spaghetti and watching Bourne identity.
Hm.
Drinking has started to have a noticable effect on my thinking skills in a way that it hasn't before. Maybe it was an entire summer of the booze that did me in, but I have a beer or two and the next day I'm right back to not being able to remember words, making simple math mistakes and the like. Maybe its the unsatisfying sleep that beer affords.
Nobody does four on the floor quite like Spoon.
Playing side snare in the Bushmill's San Francisco Pipe band at the Scottish games this weekend. Studying is not meant to be.
But what is?
