I know that I wasn't clear on that last post, and part of the reason I wrote it down was so that I could formulate my thoughts into something that made sense. I obviously failed to explain myself correctly, so now that I've had time to think about it, I'll give it another try. Firstly and most importantly, I was NOT SAYING THAT ANY OF YOU WERE

golly, it is hard to explain isn't it? I'll send you my Spanish essay at some point, but i'd make a few changes if I weren't turning it in for a grade and for other people to read. (that's the one on someone who has impacted your life)
We already talked about a bunch of this, so I won't ramble on to you, I'll just ramble on in response.
I guess I knew that things would change before a lot of other people did. I got plenty of crap for it at times when I would express my thoughts on this senior year. I saw it happen to my sister and her friends. It's not that they lost contact, but their friendships changed. Many of them remained close. Really close even though they don't talk all that often. Here's the catch: They remained close, but how they were close matured. It took a few years for all of them to catch up and figure out how they all fit together. Now I'm hearing stories about their weddings, engagements, grad schools, jobs, travels, etc...and it's all starting to fit together. What they had in high school was a bond & what they have now is an understanding of what that bond means. Does that make sense?
Well, that's how I see it at least. It might take awhile for all of us to catch up with everyone. Some are ahead in some areas and some are ahead in others. It all depends on the person.
I like Nick's analogy of the music thing...that works.
As far as the faith thing goes, well, you guys know how much I love you. If you read any of St. Bernard of Clairvaux's sermons on love, he says some pretty profound stuff. one thing he says is something like this "I love because I love" That's what I've always said or at least tried to say. There's nothing else I can do & nothing else I want to do. I hope that I show my love to ya'll. I was thinking about this a lot this week after my break. I love you and I love your families. The hospitality you have given me is truly an inspiration. When I grow up, I wanna be just like ______(fill in the blank with your name). Uhm...sorry...mushy moment I had to share.
Well, Nick put it into words better than I can. He's a poet & can do that.
I love how you are all growing and changing. I can't wait for the summer (Laura and I have big plans). I can't wait to see how everyone has changed. I wish I could see ya'll in your now "natural habitats." Laura made more sense to me after I saw her school & met a few of the guys she knows down there. Nick made more sense after I talked with Bish and chilled with Danielle. I hope that ya'll get a chance to visit Valpo or at least meet some of my fav. people here. Hey, I like the color pink now!
Time to get back to homework.
Have a blessed Holy Week! Happy Easter all!
P.S. Nick, I can't wait to sit and chat w/ you this summer. Can't wait to hear allllll about BIG BREAK!!!! Don't get too tan. We should make a habit out of Saturday breakfasts or something. I'm game for picnics with the crew once a week...I'll make sandwiches if Garrett wants me to...and cookies.
