I know a lot of people already talked about this weekend, but you can read about it again. It was a lot of fun seeing people again. Especially Claire and Laura, since I get to see them the least during the year. The Friday night concert was incredible (at least the bands that didn't suck). Even spending a half hour going nowhere in a blizzard

This is Bish, one of those "Strong Christians" from Nick's floor. Being a couple years older and, in my opinion, a lot like Nick (especially my high school situation, I had a lot of friends that looked to me too), I wanna just say a few things.
1. Falling in love with God at school doesn't mean I think I'm better than my old friends. In fact, ever so more and more I think that I realize I am no better than anybody else.
2. Even though friends change, the friendships last. Check my blog, http://julieandbish.blogspot.com and check the post on April 5 for what I have to say about friendships. I have friends that have kids out of wedlock, that do drugs, that go to abortion rallies and all kinds of "horrible" stuff, sin even, that I would never do. They are still my friends, and we can still hang out and have a fun time. Friendships, for some strange reason, aren't about similarity as much as trust and loyalty. That becomes more apparent as you wonder sometimes "why am I friends with someone so different than me?"
3. And lastly, being a Christian or a passionate Christian isn't about thinking you're better than anybody else - in fact, I think we realize more and more that we aren't "good" people as we go through life. None of us are, and if we say we're inherently good we're either deceiving ourselves or our definition of good is off. I am, obviously, biased in this opinion, but I want everyone to know that Nick didn't mean he was good in any way, just that he is following God. That's the cool thing about Jesus, that he is our righteousness for us. It's not about things we do, it's about trusting in him to do it for us. So I can understand your misunderstandings, but know that Nick didn't mean to say that he was better than anybody else.
In conclusion, Nick basically sucks at life (like everybody else but Jesus) and you'll all be friends happily ever after. The end = )
