So, I just got back from All Campus Worship, which is an amazing time. All of the Christians on campus in one room praising God, it was awesome. The speaker was really good, too. He said some very convicting things about missions and about the world. He talked about how the rest of the world lives in such great poverty and strife, and really ( Read more... )

Wow, Nick that was beautiful. Yeah, all campus worship was amazing. The speaker was good. (There was one comment he made that kind of concerned me... but his overall message was great). I really liked how he outlined the seven people "lying on the road." And GEEZ he was SOOOO generous with those books, oh my gosh!! that was amazing. True self-giving. I've recently been praying to give myself over completely to the Lord, and let Him guide my path, and so I was so happy when he whipped out that verse from Isaiah! It was great hearing all those Christians repeat those words: Here I am, take me. It was so beautiful. Though, I prefer Jesus' own words in Luke 22:42, "Let not my will, but yours be done." Of course, it basically means the same thing, but I think Jesus' words better convey the necessity of dying to our own wants and desires and trusting the Lord to guide us to His Will for us, the path in our lives that will bring us the closest to Him. Especially because those words come when Jesus is praying in the garden, right before they take Him away to condemn Him to death.

It is definitely hard to give up what we want in order to do what God wants for us. Yet, we have to trust what He is doing. Sometimes, its hard to figure out what He is calling us to do... We don't all get the blessing that Paul got when the Lord knocked him off his donkey to tell him he was supposed to follow Christ. That's why we have to pray, and often... pray for our joys, sorrows... everything. But, we also have to be ready to listen, with our our whole mind, heart, and soul. He'll answer.
