I'm riding on the train from edinbourgh to London. Yes, the is wireless on the train. Typing in the iphone is frustraiting so I won't write much. So far the castles have been my favorite part of the trip and seeing rosline chappel was interesting. Ever since I was little I've loved knights and castles and anything associated with them. I think there was a part of me that wanted to relate to a sense of heroism and honnor, adventure and responsibility larger than myself. Standing on the wall of a castle looking out over the city of edinbourgh was the literal physical manifestation of all my childhood fantisies, if I had been holding a sword standing there I probably would have had to change my pants. I think I'm done with castles for the rest I my trip, I don't expect to find any in Belgrade or Prague (the probably have them but I won't be looking). I was a child again standing there, in the best way filled wonder and a nameless facination, the way a Muslim must feel upon finally reaching the end of their pilgrimage to Mecca or a UFO nut too old to still chase aliens but finally visiting Roswell. I'm too old to still chase those fantasies but that didn't stop me from getting goosebumps standing on the castle walls.
