Taste of Home. Recipe porn as performed by your next-door neighbor. The upside: these are real-life favorite personal recipes, so odds are they're good. The downside: sometimes you run across the Grandma's Mayo Celery Jello-type recipes.

I can't be the only one who has a strange sort of fascination with this magazine...right?

What if you don't like your next door neighbors?

Then you mock them.

(OMG! I HAVE SINCE FOUND A CELERY JELLO RECIPE! From someone in California, no less!)

Ooooh. The orange-pecan pork roast looks really good. And mixed nut bars! I actually know that recipe and it's *really* good.

Celery Jell-O? Well, on the upside, the Fifth Doctor would probably like it... ;-) (Hey, it'd be something to serve at a Doctor Who-themed party. *g*)

Celery jello is the WORST. To start off, I can't stand celery in anything. Hate the stuff. So every once in a while you get a grandma-type who decides that chunks of celery in jello is a good thing. You take a bite and CRUNCH. Blech. I've decided it's some sort of sick conspiracy.

I try not to hold the celery thing against Five. It's hard sometimes though.

I feel my arteries clogging. That's the one magazine my mom wishes her mom didn't send her. She tosses them out. I wonder how many sticks of butter a typical recipe uses?

Of course I should explain that I'm not your typical eater. I run the other way from 'down home cooking' and anything that might involve throwing in lard, a stick of butter, bacon or a tub of mayo. *shudders*

Meanwhile...since we're talking recipes, I offered a Pumpkin roll recipe last year but didn't get it in time, are you still interested?

HEH!! Well, I have my limits as well. Sometimes I'll run across a recipe that sounds downright disgusting. Ones you know you'd feel like crap if you ate it.

Ooh, yes please!

I'll dig it up and scan it tomorrow. I'm too comfy right now on my sofa. :D

Oh and I thought I would share that I am flying to Orlando on Sunday. Disney World - yay! Sadly, I am only going to Epcot (International Food and Wine Festival) with my coworkers and Downtown for shopping. I am in need of more Disney mugs.
