This is shaping up to be a lousy day. A thousand little things like having to go across town to fill up at $3.50 a gallon (I figured out that I'll burn through my $600 rebate in 5 months on gas) to getting gas on my purse to suddenly becoming suspicious that the complex's leasing office has screwed up on my automatic payments. Nothing really huge in the bigger scheme of things, but I want to roar at things today.
On the lighter side of things, my brother can usually make me smirk. He works for a British company in the U.S., and we were discussing the 4th of July. "The Queen (may she reign forever) has permitted us the colonial holiday." However, they weren't granted President's Day off. Heh heh.
I had a bit of insomnia last night, which led to really random thoughts about Torchwood. I decided that John Barrowman is generally adorable, and has somewhat of a regional accent I couldn't identify (Looked it up this morning - Illinois by way of Scotland. No wonder.) Also, I'm still a bit annoyed with something from the episode Out of Time: the fact that Owen's big futuristic sexual-front thing to Diane was that women could have a baby without having sex (or a man), which is a big thing. But you know what is even more cool? THE PILL. The Pill completely revolutionized sex for women. He should have told her about that. 1950s Diane would have been jumping for joy at that wonder.
And considering my record lately, here's where someone will come in and tell me that Owen and Diane had a giant conversation all about the Pill, and what the hell was I doing during it?
The primaries should be interesting to watch today.
