XD I can relate. I do ship Sherlock/John quite a bit, but movie!Mary convinced me that Mary can be awesome and can fit in there somehow. :D I have no idea why it works for me since I normally don't care for threesomes, although sex has never been a major factor for me with shipping so maybe that has something to do with it.
*nods* I've never been big on threesomes in my shipping (with exceptions of course), and sex hasn't been a major factor for me either. I'd be lying if I said I minded sex in the story, but I'm looking for a good story about (fictional) people I love first and foremost. If sex fits into the story, fantastic. If not, that's fantastic too!
Like, I'd be completely happy to see a group hug where Sherlock is all "EEERG. GET OFF." and John and Mary are like "LOL NO."

I really liked the dynamic of movie Holmes, Watson and Mary, and really hope we'll see more in the next movie. I'm also hoping we'll see that same dynamic in BBC. At this point it's a lot of wishful thinking since we have no idea what Amanda!Mary will be like, but I'm hopeful.
I think that's exactly why I'm having such mixed feelings. I almost feel guilty that my inner two year old is winning the internal argument, because I do like Mary and how well she can fit, and I do have hopes because I love this show inspire of Moffat.
I'd be lying if I said there wasn't that small voice trying to yell "BUT IT'S MOFFAT DEALING WITH A WOMAN CHARACTER. IT WILL TURN OUT GROSS." But mostly it's squeeing at Amanda at the moment. XD
