I'm sort of cracking up at the hard-core Regina stans on tumblr. Their issues seem to be summed up as "HOW DARE HENRY BE MEAN TO HIS MOTHER - SHE WIPED HIS ASS WHEN HE WAS A BABY. AND PER ADOPTION LAWS HENRY BELONGS TO REGINA."
OK, for the first part, while I still don't like the whole adoption message this show seems to be sending, I reeeeeaally don't think Henry should be eternally grateful to Regina. Does no one remember how controlling and emotionally manipulative she was to him? She destroyed his playhouse out of spite. She tried to make him think he was crazy, for crap's sake. Let me say that again - she tried to make an 11-year-old think he was crazy. That she was trying to keep the fairy tale world secret from him does in no way excuse what kind of a mother she was to him. From the way fandom goes on, you'd think Henry's world was one big rainbow before Emma arrived. No.
And the second part of bringing up laws is also pretty funny. Again, I'm not wild about the whole adoptive vs. birth parent vibe from this show. However, if we want to start talking laws, Regina should already be locked up for life. Maine doesn't have the death penalty, so she lucked out there, but Regina is a serial killer. It matters not that she has Issues or might possibly have felt bad about some of them at some point or maybe is trying to be good now (?), she's murdered lots of people. She should be doing time if you want to bring up laws.
P.S. Hook still sucks and I'm all for everyone beating the crap out of him as often as possible. (Because it's really really hard to talk about this show without mentioning how much I have hate for this character.)
