So, I finished reading Goblet of Fire for the third time this morning, and I started Order of the Phoenix today also. SO I'm going to give the quotes that I got from the book and tell you why/how I think they're important. and if you don't care, then DON'T READ THEM!
On page 273 "'Well...through the door, Harry,' Dumbledore said. He wasn't smiling." Dumbledore was astonished he was clueless. I think this is important in showing how Dumbledore can make mistakes.
Page 275 "...and a large group of people came in: Professor Dumbledore, followed closely by Mr. Crouch, Professor Karkaroff, Madame Maxime, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Snape." Why did McGonagall and Snape come in as well as The Headmasters? I thought it was weird, and it's not that they're head of houses, or else Flitwick and Sprout would have come in too.
Page 280 "'It's my job to think the way Dark wizards do, Karkaroff - as you ought to remember....'" Moody's speaking. Is there something important that happened between Karkaroff and Moody that we need to know about? I don't care about Karkaroff dying though.
Page 330 "...he was looking around at waist height, as though expecing to see a dog." Karkaroff was expecting to see Sirius? Is there more to know about here too?
Page 344 "'...They'd like to prove he's only human.'" Well, we know Madame Maxime is a half-giant, but then what would Karkaroff be?
Page 410 "...a penknife with attachments to unlock any lock and undo any not..." Is this Sirius sending Harry a way to open up the Locket Horcrux?
Page 416 "'Only the other day, for instance, I took a wrong turning on the way to the bathroom and found myself in a beautifully proportioned room I have never seen before, containing a really rather magnificent collection of chamber pots." Room of Requirement anyone? and why chamber pots? What would Dumbledore want with them?
Page 439 "[Hagrid's] mother, we can exclusively reveal, is none other than the giantess Fridwulfa, whose wherebouts are currently unknown." Now, I know there's something in the 5th book about Hagrid being told that his mother died, but i don't remember there being any tangible evidence of it. I want to read into it more, but I think that the giant Blonde Death Eater could have Fridwulfa. Giants can't use magic, and the BDE's spells were going off in every direction... This is my favorite theory right now.
Page 531 "'Snape knew more curses when he arrived at school than half the kids in seventh year ...'" 1) XDDDDD 2) Where did he go his first six years?
Page 566 "'Not unless he can turn himself into a bat or something...'" This is about Snape. Apparently your patronus shows your animagus form, and J.K. Rowling said that it would be giving away too much to give away Snape's patronus? And of course there are all the theories on Snape being a vampire...
Page 577 "'What is it Potter? A Premonition? An apparition? What did you see?'" Does Harry actually have 'The Inner Eye.'
There will be more to come
