(no subject)
So, the kittens and their mama have moved in. The poor little guys are smaller than my front paws. They could fit inside one of my ears, I think! Woah!
The first night, there were only four of them, so the peopleses sent the mama back outside to take care of her wayward kitten. The four little ones stayed in the bathroom all night. That bummed me a bit, as you all know how much time I spend in there with the Lady Mama, and I would hate to be deprived of my Nip Time. But, well, we all have to make our contributions to the cause.
The little ones were very frightened that night, as you can imagine. So I spent that night guarding the bathroom door and chatting with the little ones under the door. I explained to them that the peopleses are very nice and that they supplied some good kibble and that they would be all right. But that didn't keep them from being scared. So, I sang to them kitten lullabies under the door. That helped a lot.
I think the mama cat is a bit concerned that I might be better at taking care of her little ones that she is, as she has chased me away from my lullaby station since then. Or maybe she is jealous of my singing voice. Hers is a bit on the screechy side, actually. I think she took her singing lessons from Courtney Love. Not my idea of a lullaby, but the kittens seem to like her singing all right.
I still hope they clear out of the bathroom kinda soon. I really miss my nip!
