Initial Impressions

This is definitely a direct successor to the game I remember so fondly. Still pretty much the same gameplay and graphics, right down to the sharp corners and the complete lack of effort to conceal the grid that movement is played out on. The plot, such as I've seen in the first few minutes, seems to be the basic JRPG stock setup. A kid from a family with some notoriety of a dubious and secrative sort that has links, somehow, to a royal blood line, as portrayed by an opening dream sequence. As for the battle system, it is a little more robust than I remember. Already I've noticed party mechanics and multiple enemy conflicts built into the classicly boxy interface. Very nostalgic, though I wish I could add some alcohol to the mix.

Further update will likely chronicle my progress through the game at odd intervals. Until then, I'm sure you all have better things to do than read this anyway!
