You know, I can forgive a person racing the yellow but ending up running the red light, sometimes you are just in a hurry and want to challenge fate. I do not approve but I do understand automobile accidents, shit does indeed happen. The one thing I just cannot stand is the California roll (rolling through a stop sign). I am odd like that.
Now about the movie. Freakin awesome! It embodied a lot of elements,a love story, nostalgic video game references, comic book references, lots of action, great production value and a kick ass soundtrack. What I do not understand is why it had such an abysmal box office showing. It makes me wonder about my generation and it's ability to be nostalgic and a fan of anything they enjoyed when they were young. Our generation pretty much defined what the video game industry is today, if for no other reason seeing this movie for the amazing gaming references would be worth the price of admission. The love story was action packed and unique. We brought back comic books from the brink with our love of the books in the 90's. The soundtrack was pretty good which is not surprising since it was a Michael Cera flick. His films generally have great soundtracks. What is wrong with you people? Did you not play video games for hours just like I did when you were yonger? Do you not still get in some good gaming even at our age? Do you not spout off at the mouth to younger kids today about how great gaming was in your generation? Did you not read comics when you were younger? I nkow you did, I read them, traded them and bought them with you all. This movie deserved a lot better reception than it got and I am glad I finally got a chance to see it at the theater. It is definitely a DVD day one purchase.
