An oddly misanthropic horror film. The protagonists are clownish, except for the kids; the human antagonists are unanimously vile with no redeeming features; even random strangers are unsympathetic. At least the beast was being bestial because it was its nature... although there's one point where you think even it may have been pointlessly cruel.

I don't know if this is a Korean trope, or whether it's the particular director.
