Basically it's as if Sir Terry Pratchett wrote up his Mage campaign. A mildly funny, mildly thoughtful, mildly twisted take on the Urban Fantasy genre. Perhaps without the overt moralising that Sir Terry has become known for in his later books. And a bit bloodier than Sir Terry's style.

I enjoyed it.

I also like that China is clearly trying something different with each of this non-Bas Lag books.
