The last two Dr Who episodes show the effects of a severe budgetary diet. But although I found Night Terrors predictable and cliché, I found The Girl Who Waited deeply affecting. You don't need a big budget to tell a great Dr Who yarn. Although the aging make-up on the older Amy was just perfect. Sure, it was a touch light for 36 years, but that's easy to explain away, and it was truly effective. Karen Gillan takes the chance to shine and uses it for all she's worth. Arther Darvil does great work too.
