Obscure Boundaries-- Chapter 4

Changmin wandered around the snacks isle and couldn’t make up his mind on which ones to buy.

“AARRRGGHHHH! They all look so good…”

Frustrated, he looked wistfully at the delectable foods that looked so tantalizing and teasing on the shelves and ruffled his hair.

A girl beside him giggled and took two packets of cheese-flavored pretzels.

“These are always my favorite so I don’t have to go through the trouble of picking stuff out like you right now,” the girl grinned and placed the items in her trolley.

“Do you want to recommend anything for me then?” Changmin cocked one eyebrow, trying to start up a conversation.

The girl laughed and walked up beside him.

Changmin couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

She had a smooth complexion and a healthy-glowing bronzed tan, accentuating her gorgeous doe-shaped eyes that were a dazzling shade of chocolate brown; her chestnut colored hair with golden-caramel highlights was long and wavy and she swept it to one side as she bent down to examine the food; her lips were dabbed with a shimmery coat of light-pink lip gloss and were cutely puckered in thought.

Changmin was amused to see her wearing a fitting round-necked t-shirt that said ‘FBI: Fabulous Body Inside’ with a black pin-striped vest and a pair of white skinny jeans that made her legs look long and lithe and her butt look so perky and fine…

What impressed Changmin the most was perhaps her ability to remain so poised and elegant while wearing a pair of platform gladiator heels.

“I think Sun Chips would be a good choice. It’s healthier, the same price as other cheap brands, and did you know that their new packaging is biodegradable? That means it can be used as compost in the garden and decompose into the soil. Isn’t that awesome?”

Reaching for the top shelf effortlessly, she grabbed a bag and tossed it at Changmin.

Changmin widened his eyes. Beauty and Brains. ‘I’m liking her more and more by the minute’, Changmin thought naughtily.

“Sure, I’ll take it since your endorsement was highly persuasive. You know, you should be a salesperson. I’m sure all the men will flock to you and buy just about anything you sell them. You could advertise dirty toilet paper and make it sound like the most glamorous thing in the world! I wouldn’t mind if you sold me my toilet paper...” Changmin laughed.

The girl squinted her eyes cheekily. “That is by far the lamest pick-up line I’ve ever heard.”

“Wow, isn’t that embarrassing?” Changmin blushed and brought his hand up to his neck, rubbing it vigorously.

The girl flashed him an apologetic smile and reached into her leather tote bag, taking out a piece of paper.

She scribbled something onto it, making the charms on her Tiffany’s sterling silver bracelet jingle. She tucked it in the pocket of Changmin’s polo and patted it, discreetly feeling his pecs.

‘Hmmmm, he should be the one wearing my shirt...’

Biting her lips to avoid the urge to grope the rest of his body, she flipped her hair and winked at him before leaving.

Changmin promised himself he would properly freak out when he got safely inside his car, so he composed himself and casually walked to the cash register.

Once he paid for his 5 packets of sun chips, he got into his car and hungrily took out the piece of paper nestled in his pocket.

“Isabella: 920-469-6877

p/s. my number means something (try to figure it out)

you’ll get a prize if you guess it correctly

call me :) ”

Changmin thanked God, fainted, and went to heaven.

DONG DONG! DING DONG DING DONG!

“Coming!” Junsu hollered from upstairs, struggling to pull on a black tank top and a pair of clean sweatpants after his jog on the beach.

Opening the door, he was met by the most beautiful women on earth.

“BELLE! OH MY GAWD WHEN DID YOU ARRIVE? HOW WAS LONDON? ARE YOU TIRED? YOU SHOULD’VE CALLED ME SO I COULD’VE PICKED YOU UP! IS THAT THE TIFFANY’S BRACELET I GAVE YOU BEFORE YOU LEFT? OH MY GAWWWWDDDDD!!!”

Junsu embraced Isabella in a tight hug while swinging from side to side, not wanting to let go.

“O-ay bro, I thin you shoul lemme go fore… die o lack-o oshyjen,” Isabella rasped, patting Junsu on his back.

“NO! I’ve let you away from me for way too long to let you go so easily now,” Junsu wrinkled his eyebrows and continued on with his little swaying dance.

Pulling Junsu back forcefully, Isabella grabbed his hands firmly and looked him in the eyes.

“I promise I’ll stay until I graduate from high school alright? I also can’t bear to be away from my older brother,” Isabella affirmed, pulling him in and this time, she was the one to hold on tightly.

It felt so good to be in her brother’s strong arms, to smell his reassuring scent, to have a sense of security and comfort. How she missed the one she loved so dearly.

“This calls for a celebration! My baby sister is finally back with me, so we have to treat ourselves to an extravagant feast! What do you say?” Junsu announced, grinning at Isabella with wide, excited eyes.

“Awwww, come ‘ere you little cutey wutey baby bum,” Isabella cooed adoringly at Junsu, pouting her lips and pinching Junsu’s barely-there cheeks.

“Hey! I’m your cool, older brother. Not a cute baby. Jeez,” Junsu brushed away her hands annoyingly and posed with one arm behind his head and another bent at his waist.

“Ewwww, I can see your armpit hair! Put that arm down!” Isabella scrunched her nose and swatted his arm.

“Hair represents manhood, don’t you understand anything? The thicker the better,” Junsu smirked, eyeing his sister and anticipating her reaction.

“Then you must be a really manly man! Can I braid it?” Isabella squealed.

None taken, I’m glad I get to be the manly man. Haha,” Yoochun laughed.

Junsu shook his head, shaking away his sudden random thought of what Yoochun said the day of the call-backs.

“No? Oh well, I guess braiding it will make you a girly man. I don’t a want sissy older brother. I can just imagine it… ugh, gross!” Isabella pointed out cheekily and screamed as she ran away from Junsu who already made a move to catch her.

Junsu caught onto Isabella, hauling her over his shoulder, he was met with a violent protest.

Groaning, Junsu smacked her butt and complained about how heavy she had gotten.

“It’s toned muscles and my C-cups! You should be proud of me,” Isabella boasted.

“How old are you again? C-cups for a 16 year old? Stop growing for goodness sake!” Junsu yelled, smacking her butt once again and laughed when she shrieked and kicked her legs to prevent him from moving any further up the stairs.

“Go and get into something fancy, miss fancy pants. We’re going to your favorite restaurant,” Junsu chucked her onto her bed in her bedroom and shut the door.

“I swear Yoochun, I’ve found my other half. She’s a beautiful goddess who’s both smart and fashionable. Oh man, you should’ve seen her. Those alluring eyes and angelic smile and that fine as-”

Yoochun kicked him under the table and shot him a look.

“Table language, please. This is a classy place and I don’t want to get thrown out.”

“But Yoochun, I can’t get her out of my head. I think I’m in love. Ohohohoho…” Changmin flounced onto the table with a crazy-wide, lovestruck grin on his face and kicked his legs animatedly.

“I’m happy for you man. Really, but you’ve gone on about her for the past hour. Can we talk about something else, like, I dunno, the weather?” Yoochun took a sip from his oversized wine glass and nearly choked in laughter when Changmin gripped onto the table with his eyes bulging out of his sockets.

“It looks like you’ve just seen a ghost or something,” Yoochun commented, turning his head towards the source of what Changmin was gawking at.

Yoochun froze.

“What’s she doing with Junsu?!” Changmin demanded, fire burning in his mismatched-eyes and steaming up his whole head.

‘He looks so happy…’ Yoochun observed.

But why did that make him feel a little disappointed?

A/N: *pats myself on the back* I’m SO proud of this chapter. My favorite one yet ;DDD
