Continuing my brief writing flings of 2013 - here is a double drabble featuring two ladies I found so late in my journey (finally loved them, wanted to write something, this is all I could manage!)

Thanks, that did the trick! This is lovely, and leaves me wanting more. Poor Kahlan, she let Cara get away! A very unexpected pairing, but convincing. I'm so glad your muse is back to play. Thanks!

Thanks for the thanks. I love the Cara/Dennee dynamic nearly as much as the Cara/Kahlan pairing; and there's been so much brilliant Cara/Kahlan stuff already written this was the scene that came into my mind, 'what if Kahlan was jealous?'

I like the dynamic, too, but I guess more from a 'can they get past their horrible past experiences?' and usually it's for Kahlan's sake.

So, a follow-up thought has to be - is Kahlan jealous because of romantic feelings she has for Cara, maybe as yet unrealized or unexamined? OR is Kahlan jealous because Cara has been hers, hers to mold, and prod new feelings and confidences out of? Is Kahlan a woman missing her best friend's closeness and devotion or is she missing the chance to move along a progression to more than just friendship with Cara?

Oh gosh, I love that just 200 of my words gives you such amazing thoughts - jealousy has many facets, I guess :)

Heh, well, they're a very good 200 words. :)

Another thought occurs - we saw Cara reach out to Dennee in Resurrection, she felt real remorse and she apologized. That far back it's a toss-up between Cara doing that because she felt like it was what Kahlan would do or because she wanted to please Kahlan. I guess I think the former because although we the viewers see that Kahlan hears the exchange between Cara and Dennee, we're not led to believe that they are aware she overheard them. I do miss this show.
