In my non-job-hunting life....

Today is my parents' 38th wedding anniversary. That seems like MORE than an eternity when you're 27. I wonder if it feels that way when you're 58. :)

I took Tess to the vet this morning for her annual vaccination updates. She looooves the vet. She pulls to get in that office, and she squirms and wriggles with glee while we're there. She tends to realize that it's not all fun and games when she's on the table waiting for the vet, but she's easily distracted by treats and the doctor and techs. This was the first time she got all of the shots at once and she was SO good! No shaking or squirming away. She even watched one of the needles go in. What a good girl! As a treat, she got to go to the pet food store with me, where she was showered with loving pats and treats. She's having some pieces of leftover steak with her meals today. She's sleeping by the fire right now. Rough life, eh?

I asked the vet if Tess's disinterest in food was a problem. Tess a little on the skinny side, and isn't a big fan of food. Sometimes we put stuff on it to encourage her to eat, other times we just leave it plain and wait it out. The vet said that her weight is okay for her size (she's 12lbs, 3ozs. The heathy weight zone for Boston Terriers is 15-25lbs, but she's kinda petite, too), so as long as she's eating something, it's fine - even if it's at her own pace. She said that many Bostons and other small dogs like Tess can end up quite overweight quite quickly, and many Bostons out there are quite plump. It's very difficult to get their weight back down, so it's much better to have her lean and muscular, which she is. She called Tess a supermodel. hehehehe.

Greg is on his way to Parksville as I type this. This is the second time this week he's gone there. He waited all day to find out whether or not he'd have to go today, hoping that it could wait until tomorrow. But...no. He's flying there right now, and hopefully he'll have enough time to catch a flight home, or else he'll have to take a late ferry and won't be home until suuuuper late. Sigh. If he'd been able to go tomorrow instead, the dog and I would have gone along and stayed for lunch or something. It just seems like a colossal waste of time for them to send him to the island to drop off and pick up pieces of paper.

In the pre-interview primping yesterday, I cut my bangs. I knew as I was doing it that it was probably not the best timing, because if I'd made a mistake and my bangs looked horrendous, it would be right before a JOB INTERVIEW with no time to fix it. However, it turned out fine. A little short on the right, but no one can tell but me.

I made tofu fajitas yesterday using fried tofu, and it was REALLY good! I marinated the tofu in a chipotle-lime mixture. I mean, it's not beef, but it's pretty darn good, considering. I'll add that to the list of vegetarian dinners that are tasty AND filling. Hmmm...talking about them has made me hungry. I might go eat some now.
