I'm back in Rome, after a wonderful cruise!
Some highlights/random stuff about the cruise:
- we were on the Navigator of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise. Very nice, very new. No 24 hour places to get iced tea and frozen yogurt like the last RC one, but it was very nice.
- guests were about 1/3 amurrrican, 1/3 italian, and 1/3 other. There were around 125ish Canadians. One who we met on the train back into Rome that works at BLG Toronto and noticed Greg's BLG backpack. Tres weird.
- our servers name was Narro (India), our assistant server was Serdar (Turkey). I always forget their names, so I wanted to post so I'd remember. They were great.
Our cruise days were as follows:
1) Got on the boat. Ate. Watched the welcome aboard theatre show. Slept.
2) Messina, Sicily. Nice looking, but pretty anti-climactic after Rome, and we were exhausted from all of the . We basically got off the ship, went to a cathedral, walked around for about 15 minutes, then went back to the ship. More eating, more shows, more sleeping.
2) Day at sea. Slept really late. Watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in the onboard movie theatre. Ate. Ate. Watched whatever the show was. Slept.
3) Athens. Ate, got off the ship. Acropolis. Agora. Wandering. Shopping. Eating (greek salad, pita and tzatziki, fanta). Back to ship. More eating. More show. More sleeping.
4) Kusadasi, Turkey. Woke up very early. Ate. Went on tour of Ephesus, which included the Virgin Mary's house, the Ephesus excavation site, and a carpet demonstration. Shopped (bought a fake tous bag), ate. Back to ship for more eating, more show, more sleeping (see a pattern?)
5) Heraklion/Iraklion Crete, Greece. Ate, walked. Saw a fort. Greg bought a book. Back to ship. Napped for hours. Ate, show, sleep.
6) Day at sea. Lots of eating, trivia, scrabble, reading, eating, shows, sleeping, more scrabble.
7) back on land.
Alright, running out of intertron. Will write again from Florence. Ciao!
