Yay for pit!fic finally being posted!!!
And thank you so much for so perfectly writing this scenario, that I'm sure everyone was thinking about and hoping for when reading ADWD (or was that just me?).

What winded her was that the slave who shambled out into the searing red sand, barefoot and naked but for a soiled breechclout
As sad as this description of a broken Jorah is, I can't help but focus on the fact that he's practically naked!!

Seeing your proud knight made to dance before the queen he betrayed? Not so proud now, is he, the bear who loved the maiden fair?
If ever I neede more reason to dislike Hizdar, this would definitely qualify.

All through the seemingly endless succession of verses of the ribald song, he never once lifted his head, nor gave her so much as a glimpse of the white of an upturned eye.
This just breaks my heart *sniff*

Jorah had no doubt hunted these beasts there in his snowy pine forests;
Is it very shallow of me to be completely enarmored with the image of Jorah hunting bears? It seems so manly...

she looked straight into the familiar dark eyes which gazed up at her from sockets swollen with black bruises dealt him by his captors, and felt tears slide from her own, coursing down her cheeks along with the beads of sweat.
"All the fight has gone out of him," Dany whispered.
Hizdahr leaned close. "The slavers say they beat him till he was unconscious, but they only broke him when they told him you were wed."
OMG. Wow. This part honestly brought tears to my eyes. So perfect!!

Jorah's love for Dany had never been a secret, but it seemed she had underestimated the depth of it. She'd thought he loved his home more than he loved her.
*melts*
Finally she gets it!!

Daario did not give up when I married.
Hee! Daario!bashing is always fun!

"I have been called gentle before," she said. By Jorah. "And I will prove once more that I am not."
I love that being called gentle is the thing that breaks her and forces her into action.

"I swore my sword and my heart to you the night you hatched that winged fury, my queen, and have never taken them back. Nor shall I ever."
*melts* Oh Jorah, you hopeless romantic...

I am Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons and Breaker of Chains! I declare every slave in this pit free, and this mummer's farce you call a peace at an end. Fight with me and live, fight against me and…" She cracked her whip. "Drogon--DRACARYS!"
GO DANY! I love her getting all crazy!Targaryen!!

A brilliant ending to a perfect fic, my dear! You totally deserved that win at the tourney (and I say that completely unbiased, without having read the other entries ;) )

Well, I was spoiled before I got to that part of the book, but if I hadn't been, I'm perfectly sure I would have expected that to happen! When I saw someone say somewhere that they expected it, I thought it would have been perfect. The thought of them meeting again under these circumstances...guh. Though I do feel like I should probably write a sequel about what happens after the battle and they get back to Dany's pyramid, alone together...

If it is, I'm shallows, too. But doesn't Jorah seem like he'd be such an outdoorsy guy? I can just see him loving to fish and hunt and all the things you do on Bear Island. Besides, he's got to have bearskin rugs to have sex on.

Oh Jorah, you hopeless romantic...

Only Jorah would be romantic in these circumstances, right?

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, darling! I'm grinning from ear to ear!

YES!!!! I mean most of their clothes are gone already, so you wouldn't even have to worry about getting him out of his armor ;)

Besides, he's got to have bearskin rugs to have sex on.
Guh. I like your thoughts! Very much :D

They're all dirty from the battle, though. They totally need a bath...
