I caved.
I watched Twilight.
Yes, you read that correctly.
I, mrstater, watched Twilight. I'm currently 45 minutes into New Moon. (Tried to get through all 2 hours, 13 minutes last night, but I conked out at 10 PM due to having got up at 4:30 AM. Such is the Friday night life of a new mom.)
I know -- possibly more shocking than the fact that I wrote a new R/T fanfic.
This is less so:
I watched the Rifftrax versions of both films. You know -- Mystery Science Theater 3000. Hilarious stuff, people. I have not laughed so hard in a long time. (Except at Modern Family.) My favorite thing has to be every time Bella and Edward take a lengthy pause in conversation to stare soulfully at one another and the hecklers go, "Line?" and in one scene this goes on for like five minutes.
The most surprising thing to me about Twilight? That a Radiohead song plays during the end titles. But why not We Suck Young Blood? Hello -- vampire movie!
Must run! I may be laughing, but the baby is not. Probably he's communicating to me in baby fashion that I should stop being antagonistic, and he would be right, of course. Motherhood will make me into a better person yet.
