Eight hours to Deathly Hallows! Are y'all all rarin' to get your mitts on your books? I'm in Group E at my Barnes and Noble, which means only something like 100 people in front of me in line. As I was waiting to get my ticket this morning (in the blazing Texas heat, wearing jeans, stupidly drinking a hot toffee nut latte I'd bought for caffeine ( Read more... )

Oh, wow! I thought I would check LJ one last time, not expecting to find anyone around at all, and there was this! (I know I'm commenting out of sequence, but since this part isn't at Meta, I'm going to do it anyway, heh ( ... )

I think it's appropriate, given that I jumped all over the place in this ficverse, that you should review the chapters out of order, lol.

I had so hoped to get this chapter up last night, but I was absolutely pooped out and just couldn't work up the brain power to do it. Today I sat down to do the epilogue, in a bit of a haze about the book coming out tonight (has it felt like a very very strange day for you?) and wasn't at all sure this really wrapped things up. So I'm so very pleased to know you think it does.

I'm particularly pleased you felt the public nature of this scene worked. I didn't want to do yet another hospital wing-like scene, but I wanted this to be almost a foretaste of that, to trigger in Remus' mind later when he's faced with a similar confrontation.

And I take cute as a compliment for Tonks. I've always thought she is, very, in all her feistiness.

Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to review. I'm really thrilled you've enjoyed this read. :)

See you on the other side!

I'm ridiculously depressed actually, about the new book. I'm so sad; I've had a lump in my throat just thinking about the fact that THIS is it. I prolly won't have a chance to get through with it until next week, which makes me sad as well.

What if, :::gulp::: have you thought about the possibility of one of our beloved DYING? I'm so nervous and sick and ugh, this is why I'm going out to a bar tonight instead of getting my book at midnight.

::vomits::

::is so nervous::

I'm thinking positive thoughts, and refusing to entertain the possibility of a death. She wouldn't do it to her Remus. She has such a crush on him.

Off not to think about it...

Not a proper review, I'm afraid. Just a quick note to say I've read this, and I liked it. My head is still too fuzzy from THE BOOK to be more coherant than that I'm afraid.

How wonderful! And he kisses her in front of every one else, and they won't need to hide anymore! Yay! And how brave and courageous she is - of course he couldn't resist anymore. :) Lovely! *puts fic on favourite list*

I'm so glad to know you liked this conclusion. I wanted to do sort of a foreshadowing of the hospital scene, with Dumbledore there, to resonate in his mind again later.

Thanks for your comment and the favorite!

I think this last epilogue is a triumph for the characters you've maintained so well throughout this and also the qualities of the houses that they embody. I love that Tonks gets faith and reassurance in her ability to be up to the tasks ahead from Remus, while he, though still doubting why she should care for him and hang around (prat!) gets courage enough to literally stand up and be counted. Or snog. Though that doesn't sound quite right, lol ( ... )

Do you know, originally I was going to do this as part of Ch. 6 and my epilogue was going to be Remus breaking up with Tonks in HBP to bookend the breakup in the epilogue. But then I sort of had an epiphany about how I want to approach their relationship in HBP, and I decided not to do that. Which was just as well since I wouldn't have had nearly enough time for that, lol. Barely got this out as it was, I was so shattered after Ch. 6...

Anyway, I am so glad you liked the way I wrapped this up. On one hand I was sort of afraid of turning the hospital scene into Tonks Shakes Sense Into Remus, Part Deux, but the way the previous chapter ended, it was really up to Tonks, and I thought maybe it would be important in HBP after all if Remus could have this moment to flash back to, when Dumbledore was there, looking on at a little more love in the world ( ... )
