While my head is in a state at the moment as I try to get things figured out with work, I do also need to ask some quick advice about phones.
This week, T-Mobile has finally seen fit to allow me to upgrade my phone, and I have some birthday money to spend. Not a lot, but still.
It's come at a handy time, since my beloved
Sony Ericsson W850i has finally bought the dust this week - four keys have stopped working, including critical navigation and the space bar key. I can still vaguely text people by using full stops, kinda like a 21st century telegram, but can't use the media functions or crucially hang up a call / turn my alarm off.
So, I have some choices, and need some advice. While I am a lover of SE Walkman phones, I'm tired of their proprietary headphone connector, because they're not the most secure thing in the world, and prone to popping out if my phone is in my pocket. So, I've looked at my options, and they are...
1) The
Samsung Pixon M8800.
2) The
Nokia 5800.
3) The
LG Arena KM900.
All three phones have their plus points, with possibly the LG one coming out on top - but I've never used an LG or Samsung phone before, so am a bit in the dark.
Or I could play it safe with the
Sony Ericsson W705, and have a bit of birthday cash left over too. I know it's not anywhere like as flash, and will have the usual proprietary connector issues, but I live with that now and I do fine.
But could I do more? That's the question.
EDIT - I *might* be able to stretch for the
Sony Ericsson W995, but it's a little more than I was looking to pay (coming in at just over twice the price of the others on the upgrade) - however it's my usual brand, and it's even got a proper headphone jack...
Oh. It seems the
HTC G2 is the same price as the W995. But I'm not currently on a web & walk thingy, so I wonder why it's being offered as an upgrade?
