In Which I Flail Over Doctor Who, 2
I was excited for vampires, and then knocked for a total loop when we got fish people instead. It was a good loop though. I'm not complaining. :)
Loved:
Rory's shirt, especially when the Venetian dude was wearing it. That was HILARIOUS.
The Doctor admitting he kissed Amy back (I KNOW it can't work in the long run, so WHY do I ship? Argh.)
Sword v. broom
Rory's "Yo Mama" crack. That was pretty badass.
The Doctor shushing everyone while he was thinking. So funny.
Basically every line The Doc had. Matt Smith is amazing, serious or funny.
The hard edge that the Doc seems to have taken on since his regeneration. He's still the same old quirky, hilarious, lovable guy, but he was this new grit to him that I also think is fantastic. I suppose I just like my characters alpha with a touch of snark. Very nice. :)
The Doc's shoes? I don't know why, but they're awesome, and they looked really cool when he was climbing. Weird.
Still loving his apparel, especially the suspenders.
Not so much:
Awkward sexual tension with fish lady? Maybe it's just me, or maybe Matt Smith is just so sexy it infects everyone. I don't know, but whoa.
Pregnant Amy in the previews?!
I calmed down A LOT when I realized that she is dream!Amy and that reality Amy is not all of a sudden back home and expecting. I realize eventually that she will probably have to leave or be separated from the Doc, but we're only six episodes in right now. Too soon for that! :)
Overall, loved it, as usual. It makes me sad that I think next week is a repeat and that I will have to wait two weeks for the next new one!

The finale was AWESOME!
I like that the show is NOT AFRAID to explore a pairing that has a lot of potential chemistry *cough TPTB at TBBT should take a hint or two cough*. I am so used to shipping a pairing that just doesn't happen (story of my fangirl life, baby), that this one threw me a delightful surprise when Jeff and Annie actually kissed at the end!!!! I get that the show started out Jeff/Britta, and it might even end that way. I'm fine with that, honestly. However, there seems to be a lack of spark between them. Maybe time will create one, but right now, the characters of Jeff and Annie have had a lot more chemistry all season long. Bravo to those writers for making shippers happy and exploring their options! :D
That said, I am one of those delusional people who is still holding out hope for Sheldon and Penny. I am going to trust TBBT's writers enough to think that they are killing the L/P pairing with the disastrous turns it has taken recently, and will at least be moving toward TRYING to work with a little S/P. I don't expect that to happen for some time, but a slow build up and then at least SOMETHING happening to see if it's going to work would be very, very nice.
I'm gonna go wish on that S/P star now. XD We'll see how that one goes.
