What is it?
This is similar to a "secret santa" gift exchange. You will be randomly assigned a buddy who you can send small gifts or one larger gift to you through the postal mail this holiday season (November 1st to December 19th). You can send cards, sweets, trinkets, magazines, books, cosmetics, goodies, etc.; anything you think would be fun to brighten her day! The goal is to perform a "random act of kindness" for another person!
"Rules":
This program is for active LJ members who regularly post. If you would like to participate in this exchange, you can decide to send one larger gift or a few smaller ones, the skies are the limits to your assigned buddy from November 1st to December 19th. You should not reveal your identity until the last gift to make it more exciting.(with our geographical regions spread out all over it would be a good idea to use your “secret buddy’s address for the from and to ( and ladies try not to peek at the postage stamp! ; ) You will be expected to post pictures of gifts you receive from your buddy in your journal for the enjoyment of other participants. I am going to set the limit at $40-$50 so you could buy one big gift or several smaller gifts!
How to participate:
1. Respond to me with your e-mail address, and full name. Please be sure I will not distribute your information to anyone except for your buddy and I will discard the information you send me after I match you up. All entries must be received by October 24th to participate in this exchange! You will receive an email from elfster inviting you to join you will then go in and fill in all your information. I still need name and email :)
2.Elfster will email you your buddy after the matches havebeen made. If you don't get this email after Otcober 25 make sure you check your spam box.
3. Over the upcoming holiday season (November 1st to December 95, 2008), please send your buddy small gifts and/or cards for their enjoyment! You may reveal your identity to them at the end of the exchange.
4. You will be receiving gifts from a different buddy in the mail! When you receive gifts from your buddy, please post pictures in your journal.
It will be a hard to pair anyone up with people on their friends lists you can set up exceptions on elfster but that will be a pain in the you know what! I will try my best!! Elfster does let you ask your buddy questions so you can get to know them.
Also I think were a few gals who didn't get gifts last year if you are one of them please let me know so I can check out who your buddy was and exclude them this year! Sorry!
