it's rainy and my brain is all zzzzzzzzz

So the single most frustrating thing in my fic folder right now is this:

Jack's working on the roof when she roars up his drive, gunning that bike she won't give up no matter how infrequently she gets to use it. He watches as she pulls to a halt and hops down, tugging off her helmet to reveal the hair she's cropped short once again. She takes a ( Read more... )

I have a whole post-apocalypse story like that.

I had originally written it in a notebook and it was awesome. Then I lost the notebook.

I tried to put it into google docs from memory, but it just wasn't the same.

I think if you just added some dock scenes to that bit, it would be complete enough. :P

OMG. You win. I have temporarily lost a couple of my writing notebooks and I was VERY twitchy until I found them again.

lol. Yeah, it could be fluff with like zero problem at all, but I can't let the original story goooooo. Even though I don't remember what it is. *headdesk*

Yeah, I was pretty sad. I mean, it's not often I come up with an actual plot, and then I just lost it.

I should have known better.

Also, here is your second chunk of fic. syxp September 29 2014, 18:35:34 UTC
Jack’s kitchen was still suffering from dinner. He’d never finished loading the dishwasher, and the countertops were covered in all the things he’d pulled out for his lasagna. Jack liked to cook but rarely did. It just didn’t make sense to generate this kind of carnage to feed one person. Take-out was more economical like that ( ... )

Yay! Hey, I told you this pavlovian thing would work. lol

Also I have a giant flaily soft spot for sleepy morning-after domesticity. *LOVES*

I don't know if I have said this elsewhere on any of the prior fics, but one of my favorite things about this is how alternate Sam is still clearly Sam, but with differences that totally make sense given the different choices she's made. Like the not getting up early since she doesn't have all that military history.

I love all versions of Sam. If I make her act OOC, let me know.

Also, this whole last part was kind of a giant fluff fest. I had to force a small plot into it. O.o

One of these days they will invent some sort of brain recorder where you can record dialog as it occurs to you, or somehow freezeframe the feeling that is driving a scene. It's so frustrating to lose it!!

I hate when I have a fic mostly outlined and there are just filler scenes that are missing and I just....can't finish that last bit needed to be done. Grrrr.

Or, you know, having no words at all anymore. :(

Seriously. Because I can brute force my way through descriptions and whatnot, but dialog basically has to come when I'm in the moment or there is NO HOPE.

can't finish that last bit needed to be done

OMG. The last thing I finished it seriously took me like a couple of *months* to force myself to write the last filler scene. In hindsight though there was actually a kind of important transitional note in there, so maybe my subconscious was working on that? I certainly didn't consciously know it needed to be in there. :P

Or, you know, having no words at all anymore.I am not writing much right now, and haven't for a while, because LIFE. But I am currently trying to force myself to write some, though, even if it's only like a totally useless paragraph here and there, and making myself ignore how bad it is. And trying to have faith that there's more in there if I can just pop the top off, so to speak, because I miss it ( ... )
