or possibly just "REPENT" in really big letters

The other night I found myself in line at Trader Joe's behind a very well-dressed, highly grown-up woman reading the Cliffs Notes for the Iliad. I wanted to ask her about it, but I couldn't figure out how to even start that conversation. "Psst - Hector dies"? "You really miss out on the flavor of the Cliffs Notes unless you read them in the original Greek"? I almost expected to see a sticker on the cover reading "Now With 50% Less Singing Muse".

Of course, I shouldn't be surprised, because there's also Cliffs Notes for the Bible. I'm guessing those pretty much just read "betcha wish you hadn't killed that guy."

In other news, amojojo and yodasminion got me the Oxford Reference Dictionary for my birthday. I think their bravery should be noted, since the chances of me refraining from looking up basically everything for the next few weeks are slim to nil. On the other hand, they might be able to knock me out with it and get away.
