I'm sitting here eating this amazing fillafel from this tiny little middleastern restaurant just off Union Square. Lunch has become a very important part of my life - if I don't get it just right the rest of my day is shot.

I'm leaving on Sunday for San Francisco and Los Angeles for business. I always love going to the west coast b/c it is the exact opposite of where I live. I'm spending Sunday with Beverly Sumney, my mom's best friend for 20 years, who has been like a member of the family. Since her daughters aren't very nice to her she refers to Lindsay and I as "her real children." We're going to do a little shopping and then go to dinner in Solsolito (my favorite). I have an extra day in L.A. between activities and have realized that all of my friends no longer live there. So I'm going to have to get creative with my time. I hate eating dinner alone when I'm away on business.

I just finished reading for the second time Bill O'Reilly's "Who is Looking out for You." Fabulous book. It delves into the importance of surrounding yourself with people who are for you vs. against you, and just b/c someone is a family member, a friend or a close co-worker doesn't mean they fall into that category.

The debates are on tonight and I can't wait to slip into something comfortable and watch them. The next 5 weeks will be very interesting...
