I have a sore throat. This does not make me happy, especially since there is a nagging feeling at the back of my mind that either the bug that smacked me over this weekend was a 24-hour cold, or somehow my brain overexaggerated it. Even if this sore throat does turn into something worse, I don't think my colleagues will let me continue playing the sick card.
On a related note, I seem to be in a strange funk most of the past coupla weeks. Might have something to do with the fact that certain friends of mine seem to be taking their sweet time getting back to me on stuff, especially when work is not involved. Dammit.
___________
I've been watching some episodes of The Wire lately, but I may have done a little too much when one night after taking some NyQuil I saw the face of the CI guy (can't remember his name) asking me why I didn't get up to play basketball.
__________
One thing that has lifted my spirits--if only briefly--is the news that I've been accepted to work on a little student-produced miniseries in the making called The Student Seven. Supposed to be yet another take on Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, except at a modern-day college campus with gamer protagonists. At some point may appear on the internets, except the folks behind it are trying to treat it more like an actual project instead of just some random YouTube video shot in a guy's backyard.
As for my part in this project, I'm supposed to play a cameo role in part two, but off-screen I've been slated to act as Script Supervisor, and it actually sounds like something I'd like to do.
____________
Blazblue is getting a sequel. Three new characters (okay, one of them's a palette-swap), new story, and maybe some new backgrounds...which means it'll probably be sold as a $60 game instead of $15-20 DLC. Dammit.
___________
I actually got invited to a polisci luncheon where ex-Rep. Lee Hamilton is supposed to give a little speech. Should be interesting.
____________
Speaking of politicians, this one will probably amuse you folks for awhile. Rep. Alan Grayson from Florida, a Democrat
with balls. Let's see how long it will take before he's forced to apologize.
___________
Oh yeah, sorry America, but
you're not getting health care reform. You might get
"reform", but not reform.
Look on the bright side, at least the same Senate committee who shot down those super-costly public option amendments could
find money for ultra-important abstinence-only education funding.
