I know there are tons of reasons why people hate sites like Facebook and MySpace, but sometimes, they are wonderful inventions.
I just logged onto Facebook - for probably only the second time this year - and there, on my homepage, was my cousin's face. Wearing a Chicago Bears hat, no less! Heee!
We grew up practically like brother and sister until I was 14 (he would have been 12 at the time), when he moved to California to live with his mother and stepfather (they'd just gotten married; until then, my aunt only lived 2 towns away from me). His friends were my friends. Hell, one of his friends became my boyfriend for a little while there. ;) But once he moved to Cali, I hardly ever saw him again. Contact became increasingly infrequent. At one point, when he was still married, I used to email him and his wife all the time, but then they got rid of their internet connection and that contact pretty much stopped. I did get to talk to him a couple of years ago, when our grandmother had a third hip replacement surgery and he had flown to Illinois to stay with her and give her whatever help she needed. That was the last time I had any sort of contact with him. All news of him since then has been second and third-hand.
But today I found him, when I wasn't even looking for him! My "little brother"! *squee!*
