I found
this story both sad and hopeful at the same time. It's about a heterosexual couple who applied for a civil partnership, but had it denied. It's sad in that, personally, I don't understand why a straight couple cannot have a civil partnership any more than a why a gay couple can't be married. But it's nice that someone has seen fit to push it a bit. Here's to hoping their appeals are successful! I can't see the objection - certainly it can't be on religious grounds...
