The haunting of washers and dryers...

May 30, 2007 16:25

Today has been funny, a while back my mother had given me her washer and dryer that she was not using and that she was keeping in her storage. My husband and father in-law helped her move out of her house on very short notice and this was what she paid us with. At the time we received her washer in dryer we were currently using a washer and dryer that my husband's mother had given us, which worked very well, but was not as nice as my mothers. So we put our old washer and dryer in storage and set up the new ones to use.
Since then, we have moved and even a nicer washer and dryer came with the house....you following me? okay, good. So, today I am minding my own business being bored at work like usual and I get this email from my mother....
She is asking me about her W&D (got tired of spelling out washer and dryer), she wants to know where it is because my older sisters W is going out. I emailed her back and let her know that we gave it to my husband's grandmother. Here is her response....

"Jaymie,

I lent my washer and dryer to you guys! You’re not supposed to give it away to someone else. Well, thanks. Remind me not to lend you my car."

Oh, no she didn't. What an Indian Giver she is, my mother! I can't believe this. I never recalled her saying that she was just LENDING us her W&D.
Okay, Okay, my response was...

"Im sorry, I wasn’t aware that you had just lent us your washer and dryer, I never once heard you say we could only borrow it temporarily... That was a BIG miss communication. MOM, I would have definitely not given it away if I knew we were just borrowing it. You have been hanging around Greg too much..."

Ha! Good come back! Greg is her husband by the way.... and he is really rubbing off on her. Uhhhggg!
Well, to make a longer story short, I did have another W&D in storage to give to my sister. My mom was happy and we made up.

The moral of my story is, You never get something for nothing, especially when it comes to your parents. I don't want to hear another word about W&D'ers today!
