Bud is doing well. It seems like his colors have gotten more vibrant and that his fins are bigger. I am not sure if the fin thing is make believe or not. It is a subtle. It may be that he is just keeping his fins more flared or that he had a touch of fin rot from the evil pet store and they are healing. I don't know, they seem longer.
It is amazing to me that I get so much joy from simply watching him and interacting with him. It has helped so much to lift me from the funk I have been in. I guess I just never expected that a fish would take so much interest in the world outside his tank. It probably has a lot to do with the spring fever that is gripping my part of the world right now. Everyone is looking for change and new. It would help explain why the now three Bettas in my office are so popular.
I am still considering getting Bud an enemy. One Betta is so easy to care for that I am pretty sure that two wouldn't be so bad. But, I will wait on that. I tend to get over excited and obsessive about things that I like so I have to impose a mandatory waiting period before I can jump at anything.
If I do decide to bring home an enemy for Bud, I will get another from the same pet place. Even if they seem to not actually care for the Bettas they sell and some are sick or dead. I would rather rescue some poor little guy from the evil pet chain rather than boycott.
BTW: I would cut tag more, but something changed at work with the interweb setups and it doesn't want to work anymore. Sorry to those that hate long posts. :)
