You know what I want to do?

I want to raise money from people, like a fundraiser (go figure...) and donate all the money I raise to a REAL organization... This organization, to be exact ( Read more... )

Dude, you've come to the right place, sort of...

What you need to do is figure out all your options... like where you would like to stand outside of... Wal Mart? Call them or go to the service desk in the store and ask them who you would need to ask about setting up a fundraiser in front of the store. They will probably get the store manager for you, and then you present your idea (collecting money for ((name of organization here)).

The run/walk thing... That's a very interesting/good idea... but I would say you'll need a TON of time and help to make that work... and a place to do it. But those cost money. Lockwood's doesn't because we don't have to rent anything, really. We get it all from the park district and already have a good volunteer base to work with. Also, just to be a little selfish... I don't want you to steal my runners or glory. Lol. Well, it isn't really that. If you wanted to do a run you'd be in for a trip. I would think you would have to contact that organization and get permission from them... because if you're raising money for them I would think they would have to make sure everything is being done properly... so that if anything happens they can't be sued or something. I don't know.

You could also just do AIDS awareness things in the community. LIke you could go to the schools with a presentation. You could find a teacher at your school to help you with that... I think Mrs. Falzone might be a good choice. I dunno. I would have gone to Zapke... but that's not really an option for you.

Along with the AIDS awareness you could kinda ask for donations somehow... or give out the website or address to where people could send checks or use their credit cards online... however that works.

You could get a group of students together at your school to do this awareness program. You could maybe team up with the DARE program.

I know this is a lot to consider. Don't fret! You can start small. I would start by doing more research about how other people are raising money for the org. and raising awareness for the cause. And then start talking to people about it... Mention to teachers your plan. It may seem awkward at first, but the more you talk about it and the more people you talk to (peers AND adults) the more clear it will be to you what you need to/can do!

Weefun!
