Big Obama Apple

Article of Obama taking his wife on a date to New York.

And while I think it's great for even the president to continue the romance in his life, I don't approve it being on taxpayer dime.

Can anyone confirm/deny how it was paid for? Any thoughts or opinions on the matter?

Why does it matter?

I'd like to be more in control of my tax dollars, or tax-fractions-of-pennies.

Knowing what he plopped on tax-dime helps me form a better opinion on the matter/him.

The president's salary comes from your tax dollars. It is also not nearly enough for what he is responsible for. And it should be perfectly acceptable for him to use his salary to take his wife out to dinner. (Although I don't get how it is national news).

It's news because his enemies can't find bigger things to beef with him about, lol.

How do you feel about corporations doing similar, or if you worked for a company that took a piece of your paycheck so the CEO or whatever could be a good husband to his wife, similarly?

Let's say that CEO or whatever was making a comparable salary to Obama, versus our common notion of millionare/billionare CEOs, for argument's sake, to keep things as similar as possible.

If a CEO of a Fortune 500 company was making a salary comparable to the President, he'd be making about $75,000 a year.

The amount they spent on that date is maybe 0.001% of his entertainment budget, the same entertainment budget every President has.

And chances are they might have even eaten for free, considering having a President eat at your restaurant may be the best advertisement a restaurant could ever have.

TBH I think and hope they were comped for the whole night besides AF1 and secret service.

I'd comp the shit outta the prez if I was a business owner in NYC.

I'm comparing the situation to when a company uses bailout money for personal shit ;)

Well, I could understand if you saw him in the clubs drinking Hennessey every night, but taking his wife out to dinner?

And as for your CEO comparison, if you want to look at it from that perspective, the POTUS is severely underpaid and undercompensated.

lol hennessey, although you take .5 part or 1 part hennessey and 3-5 parts bailey's irish cream and you got yourself a nice drink that'll fuck you up.

the POTUS is severely underpaid and undercompensated.

So are many other people. Better to have the president comparable to the everyman than the CEO types.

But for that hypothetical, let's say the variables were similar, %-wise. Would you be ok with the CEO taking a % of your check for personal stuff?

i will say honestly, no. not that the question was being posed to me. but if mike claims anything else i'll accuse him of being a big fatty liar. because both of you are well aware of the shit david put me through, and how my earnings went to funding things like his son's ski trips to the swiss alps, and his wife's sapphire earrings, and his mansion in jersey, and the ferrarris and closet full of prada, etc., not to mention all the various and decadent homesteads. while i took home peanuts. and now he's in the process of slowly closing up shop nice and quietly because he can't run without me, as i've stated numerous times. so. no, i'm not okay with it. and i don't think from what either of you guys have said to me on the topic that you are either.
