a dog day afternoon
so i am dogsitting this week for a neighbor who is on a cruise .. 2 dogs who live in a kennel and the cat who stays in the house. last night is my first night and of course, the dogs jump up on me as soon as i enter the kennel. one nips my nose, the other jumps up and knocks me into the gate, cutting up my arm, and pushing open the gate so the dogs could take off. which is exactly what they did. i put the cat in the bathroom so i could leave the house open for the dogs, in case they came back while i was looking for them. after about 20 minutes and with the help of the neighbor, i get the dogs back. by now i have fed and watered them and forget walking them, theyve had enough exercise, back into the kennel for the night.
so i go back upstairs to let the cat out before i leave, only to find the door locked from the inside. since the cat has no thumbs and cant unlock the door, i spend the next 20 minutes trying to pick the lock. i finally got the lock picked.
today was a better day with the dogs ..
