My niece has a friend that just suffered a brain injury, and I was telling my sister in law how posting updates allowed Julie's friends to stay connected when it was not feasible for them to visit. So I came back here and reread some of Julie's journey. It is surreal that it has been over three years since her accident. When I reread all the ups and downs it brings back a lot of stuff, but that girl worked so hard to get where she is at and deserves recognition for that effort!
I hope you all have had a chance to see Julie and spend time with her. She has worked so hard to regain her life, and is doing an amazing job of it. Later this summer she will graduate from her Acquired Brain Injury program at Coastline College, and then start taking regular college classes in the fall. is it scary, and hard for her? I am sure she would tell you yes. But her family has always been supportive of her and she will continue to make progress.
If you have her old cell phone number, give her a call one of these days and check in with her. She loves to hear from old friends. During the week she is quite busy with school but weekends she usually has time for a movie or to hang out.
Oh, and she is doing the Brain Injury Walkathon again soon. on Mar 26th. here is a link if you want to sponsor Juli or walk with her:

Hope you are all well.
