I just don't understand.

Today I saw "Brokeback Mountain." It was really good. The production was out of this world, and the love story was really well done.

It makes me bitter about "The Producers," because I saw that film a long time ago when I should have seen "Brokeback Mountain." And no, I'm not fucking kidding you. I'm not sure that anybody on the planet understands ( Read more... )

I loved The Producers. Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of musicals myself, but the very few I appreciate are the type that have wit and charm, or completely nonsensical humor to it.

The only musicals I appreciate are The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Producers, and Reefer Madness (the remake).

I think you can only appreciate The Producers to its full extent if you've seen the original or if you're a Mel Brooks fan. It's slapstick, it's stupid, but it's charming.

I love "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," too. That's a musical I tolerate. [:

It wasn't like we decided let's all go to the movies and you wanted to see Brokeback Mountain and we forced you to see the Producers. We all planned to go see the Producers and even you were excited about it. It wasn't until last minute you decided you wanted to change movies on us. You need to quit acting like you're a victim or something. The Producers was actually something original, while Brokeback mountain was a cliche' award begging piece of crap. Each time you talk about the Producers it seems to get worse, but there was never any initial explanation to why you hate it.

The second we got out of the theater I very clearly articulated exactly why I thought it was so horrible. And I don't know if I was actually excited about it, I did tell you a few times that it was terribly reviewed and I saw the preview and it looked bad and blah blah blah. I was excited about seeing YOU, but not "The Producers."

I feel like that film was such a waste of time. It killed brain cells, and it wasn't even enjoyable. In fact, it was a FAR FUCKING CRY from enjoyable. It was like getting anally penetrated by Geraldo Rivera, but less interesting.

There's a reason why I'm still not over this. I've never experienced anything like this.
