I made a cake purse for $14.94! Eat that, Baby the Stars Shine Bright!
My cake purse started out as a sewing kit that cost $7. I took out the sewing needles, thimble, and other stuff like that. I ripped a butterfly off of the handle and took off sequins around the top.
I glued felt around the sides, and sewed poorly cut frosting dribbles to the pink part.
I made a lid out of two layers of white felt. I sewed half of it to the top, so you can open it and still put stuff in.
Using this template, I made strawberries and whipped cream droobles!
Sew that shit on the top, and...
Tadaaaa!
Only one evening of work, less than $15, and I've made something that I've wanted for ages, only put off buying because the purse plus shipping comes out to like $75.
Yeah, it's not perfect, but it's cute and now I feel good about myself. =D
Man, crafting is cool. Also, I might make another one for a friend, only I have (hold on, let me count...) like, NO friendgirls, let alone friendgirls who would actually want one.
