Has anybody read this book? Cause if not, I can recommend it. It is not a pleasant book to read, but an interesting one. It is better than the film adaption. I can`t say I much like all aspects of the author`s writing style which is affected by extreme cynicism, more-than-black-humour, vulgar language and intense bloodthirstiness; but the story and its moral are worth to dig oneself through the mud. It is most interesting and of a gloomy suspense.....you really want to get to the solution and understand the connections.....Also I admire how the book is written from a very original point of view: from that of a thinking (and very cleverly thinking) cat in a world of intelligent animals who can think like human beings and communicate with each other, but whose intelligence is unknown to their "can openers"....Remarkable is also how the at first sight absurd story is confirmed with a big deal of detailed factual knowledge about cats, their habits, their physique and abilities by the author. It is shown that the story is not just made up out of thin air but that the author has put a lot of time, research and thought into it.
It is a story about murder, madness, religious and scientific delusional ideas, the disproportionate battle between man and animal, and - cats! ;) So - a real thriller, and a crazy one! If you want to read something really unusual, read Felidae...
